Flying Softly

I used Tim Holtz's Nature's Discovery stamp set for this card. I stamped the foilage with black stazon and then moved the stamp over a bit and pressed lightly to get the shadow effect. Then I stamped the floral and swirls in the corner. The butterflies were inked with clear resist and embossed with a very light lavendar from Stampin-Up. Taped ribbon on back, put on buckle and taped ribbon again. I had to put a glue dot under the buckle to make it stay in one place.

Stamps: The Stampsmith
I did this card last year and for the life of me
I cannot remember how I did the
background on this card. It makes me sick too,
as I really like it and would like to do it
over again. I think it is caryons heated on a
warming plate.

I made this card using a technique from Crafts & Things Magazine (Dec 2010). Put pearl-ex on craft mat. Add a bit of water and mix well. Repeat with 2 more colors. Using glossy cardstock, put cardstock glossy side down in to pearl-ex. Twist and lift up. Heat with heat gun, and repeat layering as many times as you want until you get the look you like, making sure to heat in between. Once in a while the pearl-ex mixture will kind of bubble up. Personally I like the texture.
Then I cut a piece of acetate and stamped Passion from Hampton Art with staz-on. I then painted the flowers and lips with Smooch. Make sure this is dry before going to the next step. I glued the glossy cardstock onto the layers of other cardstock and then the card. I put a tiny bit of dimensional magic behind some of the dark layers on the acetate so it would not show through, the I put the acetate on top and put theClass A Peels from Stampendous arond the acetate. WaaLaa it's done. Yeah
